Round Table? What for?

The last topic was a summary of the travel that the Knights of the Round Table made in order to found the castle of where the Holy Grail was kept. But, what is the Round Table? What are knights?

The Round Table was introduced in the rule of King Arthur in England to maintain equity of the ones who were privileged enough that have novel blood who sat in this table. The implementation of this form is because usually the ones with higher respect were allowed to sit in the head. But, the other knight would feel envy and jealousy and because of this they start a brawl in the middle of the main hall causing harm to the ones who weren’t very skillful with the managing of weapons. With the round table only the King had superiority above all the other noble knights and princesses. Also the table was enchanted by the magic of Merlin that blessed the knights that sit in the round table with the power to defeat everything that was a threat to the Kingdom. The names of the blessed knights where written in the chairs and whenever someone died this name disappears and the name of a new chosen knight appears.

Knights were novel to the king in every aspect; whatever the King ordered is what they do without complain at all. Legends describe the heroic acts of knights fighting dragons around the kingdom or in journeys that they have to find a sacred artifact that will raise the power of their Kingdom.

What is the Holy Grail?

The Holy Grail is a vessel that was used by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper. The legend told us that The Holy Grail was given to St. Joseph and in there he collected Christ's blood and sweat while he was on the Cross. Later on the legend said that Joseph was kept imprisoned in a rock tomb and he survived several years because of the power of the Holy Grail. When he finally went out of the tomb he traveled to Britain and sends the grail to be guarded in a castle in Cobenic.

Hundreds of years later the castle where the grail was guarded became forgotten. In the Court of King Arthur it was prophesied that the Holy Grail would be one day rediscovered by a descendant of St. Joseph family, the best knight of the whole kingdom. The son of Lancelot, Galahad, had a vision of the Grail itself, so the quest for the holiest relic began. The Knights of the Round Table travel through all Britain from one end to another. Finally Perceval found the Castle of Cobernic and tried to reach the Holy Grail, but he failed in the attempt. Then Lancelot tried because of the failure of Perceval, but he was rejected to by the power of the Grail because he was impure to be in a presence of such a holiest artifact. In the end Galahad arrived, he was the only one that was accepted by the power of the Holy Grail. Now his life completed and the grail and the man raised to heaven.
